Dear parents and carers,
I would like to start by thanking you all for your kind donations towards children in need, our children loved our Pudsey themed day and we raised lots of money for a great cause. This half term we have also enjoyed dinosaur week, healthy eating and the story of Supertato (a super hero vegetable!). We are really looking forward to starting some Christmas magic at Preschool over the next few weeks.
You will shortly receive confirmation of your time slot for parents evening. If you have not managed to return your parents evening slip to us and wish to book an appointment, please email me and
we can arrange a time for you to visit your child’s keyworker. We are really looking forward to seeing/ speaking to you all about your children’s learning and development.
Christmas will be starting to creep into preschool from next week, which we are really excited about. We have begun practicing our Christmas carols which you may start hearing at home and
we are looking forward to welcoming you into preschool for Christmas carols and possibly a visit from the main man himself (SANTA!) on Monday the 16th of December from 4:00.
With the temperature dropping please can we remind you to send your children with appropriate clothing such as thick coats, hats, scarves and gloves are recommended. Please make sure these
are labelled. Our children love accessing our outdoor provision so we want to make sure they are nice and warm. I would also like to let you know that in the case of preschool having to close due
to snow or weather conditions an email and tapestry notification will be sent out on the morning of that day, we take guidance directly from the DfE as well as the primary school which we share
grounds with. Please ensure you check both emails and tapestry for notifications if you are ever in doubt.
Winter bugs seem to be present at the moment, please can we give a friendly reminder that as stated in our policies if children require calpol or other similar medicines for them to be able to feel
well enough to attend preschool then they should stay at home. This is the best way for us to stop the spread of winter bugs and viruses.
We will be welcoming Becky Newbury, an amazing photographer, into the setting on Friday the 29th of November and Monday the 2nd of December to take some pictures of our children which you will then have the opportunity to view and buy. Becky is an extremely professional photographer which will provide us with thumbnail pictures of your children for you to see and a password protected system to order and buy any photos you would like. If your child is not in session either of these days and you would like them to attend for a photoshoot, please email me
and we can arrange a time for you to come and participate. Equally if you do not wish for you child to participate in this please also let me know.
We have been advised to remind our parents to take care when driving to and from preschool, please be extra vigilant of your speed in and around the car park and school road. Unfortunately, a
local cat which visited the school and preschool regularly passed away recently, suspected to have been hit by a car. The main road is often busy with children walking from their cars in to school so please drive slowly and cautiously. Please also ensure children are secured safely in car seats on their journey to and from preschool. For extra guidance on the requirement of car seats please follow the link below:
Child car seats: the law: Using a child car seat or booster seat – GOV.UK
We are excited to announce we will be hosting a Preschool Christmas disco in Stour Provost Primary School hall on 18 th December from 3:30. A letter has will be sent out from today if you and
your child wish to attend please return the slip to preschool. We have a super busy and fun filled few weeks to come at Preschool and we are really looking forward to sharing all of these events
and Christmas excitement with you all.
