Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you have had a lovely easter break and are looking forward to welcoming your children back to Preschool tomorrow. We ended a lovely term of science experiments, forest school fun, baking and crafting with our Mother’s and Others Easter Egg Hunt!
This was a huge success, we thoroughly enjoyed welcoming all of our parents, carers and children in to come and play with us. We look forward to hosting lots more of these sessions this term.
Throughout last term we have been observing the life cycle of a butterfly. When we ended the term, our caterpillars had just formed their chrysalis and were ready for a long rest whilst they turn into butterflies.

We are looking forward to showing your children the beautiful butterflies which have emerged from their chrysalis and releasing them into the garden this week!
Summer term
This term begins with lots of building, creating and imaginative play with our construction theme starting in our role play area. Last term children showed great interest in Lego, Duplo and using their imagination to build and create. Therefore, we have built on this interest in Preschool on a much larger scale with foam bricks, stones and rocks to extend their learning and options even further. We will be continuing to plant and grow throughout this term and will be learning what different plants and herbs need to thrive.
We can’t quite believe that we are just about to begin our last term of the academic school year. We are so excited to support our school starting children in their last term of Preschool and work closely with your children’s chosen schools to ensure the most seamless transition for all our amazing children. We are looking forward to a term full of learning, fun, sun (hopefully) and ever lasting memories. Important dates for this term including Sports day, Graduation and fundraising events will be sent out shortly to give you lots of notice for the chance to join us.
Suncream and suitable clothing
As the hotter months (fingers crossed!) appear please remember to apply sun cream to your child before bringing them to Preschool, this will be then reapplied throughout the day as and when needed. We ask, if possible, for children not to attend preschool wearing croc style shoes as we have bark in the garden and this can be uncomfortable when inside children’s footwear. Please return any forest school kit
back to preschool which was sent home at the end of last term. We are looking forward to lots more adventures down at our forest area this term.
Thank you for your ongoing support and participation in your children’s Preschool life, please don’t forget to share photos of what you have been up to over the easter holidays with us over on tapestry. We can’t wait to see what you have been up to.
Kind regards,
Amy and the Stower Vale team
