A big welcome to you all starting, or continuing, at preschool this year, we hope you had a lovely summer break!
Staff
We are really excited to introduce our new members of staff this term, Lucy and Tina have joined our team! Tina has been training with us over the last year and we are so happy that she has enjoyed her time so much that she is now a permanent member of staff, as the children already know her really well this is fantastic. Lucy has also joined us, she is level 3 qualified and loves working with children fitting into the pre-school team as if she has been here for years! You will be able to meet both Tina and Lucy at drop-off and pick-up times, at stay and play sessions which will be sent out shortly, but please do feel free to come in and say hello beforehand if you wish.
AGM + Committee Meeting
Our next Committee Meeting will follow our AGM on Tuesday 10th October 2023 at 7pm in preschool.
We are looking for new members to join our friendly committee, as we are a charity it is part of the Charity Commission rules that we have at least 60% of the committee as current parent/carers, without which we will not be able to continue running the pre-school. If you would be interested in joining our committee in October please let us know. It is not an arduous role, we meet 3-4 times per year for up to an hour, our meetings are relaxed and friendly and you gain an insight into the way the preschool operates. Please do not hesitate in speaking to either Sam Wattridge (Chairperson) or Claire at pre-school if you can support us by becoming a committee member

Weather
Just a reminder to please ensure your child has suncream applied before coming to preschool, we will reapply during the day, unless you inform us that the suncream applied gives all day protection. Please also remember named sunhats please. No open-toed shoes/sandals or flipflops, socks are also a must due to the bark area so please ensure your child has socks on or a pair in their bag, thank you.
Pre-school safety
The pre-school gate is locked during session times but we would just like to remind all parents/carers when entering and leaving the premises to please ensure that the gate is shut at all times by pulling the latch firmly across. Thank you for your continued support.
Talk Like a Pirate Week
To celebrate ‘Talk Like a Pirate’ day on the 19th September we are having fun pirate activities all week from Monday 18th September. Your child is very welcome to come dressed as a pirate during the week or bring along a favourite pirate book to share with friends.
Recycle Week
We will be learning about the importance of recycling and looking after our planet during Recycle Week beginning Monday 16th October, we would be really grateful if you could bring in some used containers and boxes, i.e., cereal boxes, kitchen roll tubes etc that we can use for model making during the week, thank you.
Easy Fundraising
A reminder to please support Pre-school by using the Easy Fundraising page when ordering online, please find below the QR code to link straight to our page, this is also displayed in the lobby and there is a link at the bottom of our website home page. Joining Easy Fundraising does not cost you a penny but is a great way for us to raise funds for the pre-school, every time you make an online purchase the supplier will make a small contribution to us, at no cost to you.
Tapestry
We hope you are continuing to find your child’s Tapestry Journal a fun and helpful way to see what your child has been doing at pre-school, please remember our weekly activities or individual planned activities with your child are also on Tapestry, to access these you will need to go on the Tapestry desktop site and click the ‘Activity’ tab at the top of the page. For all new children a link for your child’s journal will be sent to mums and dads shortly, please let us know if you would also like any of your family to also be given access to your child’s journal, such as grandparents, aunties or uncles, we will just need their email address and your permission to send them a secure link.
