Chat Health

Parents and carers of children aged five or under in Dorset can now access support via ParentLine – a brand new confidential text messaging service.

The service is provided by Dorset HealthCare’s Health Visiting team and will help parents and carers who need guidance about a child’s health and development.

Advice will be available about a range of topics, such as breastfeeding, bottle feeding, weaning, sleep, toileting, minor illness, behaviour and parenting by simply texting 07312 277162.

For more information please visit Dorset HealthCare :: New text messaging service to support parents and carers

ParentLine is not an emergency service. For urgent medical attention please contact your GP, NHS 111 or 999.

Covid-19

As you will be aware there have been recent updates to Covid-19 guidelines regarding LFD tests and self-isolating.  Please find below information regarding Pre-school aged children:-

  • Children under the age of 11 are not required to take part in regular asymptomatic LFD testing.
  • From the 22nd December 2021 positive cases may end isolation early, this includes children under 5 years old if a parent or guardian chooses to undertake the required LFD testing with the child and they meet the following criteria:-
  1. Take two LFD tests on consecutive days, the first test being taken no earlier than day 6 of isolation (the tests must be taken 24 hours apart) and the result of both tests is negative.
  2. Have been free from a high temperature for a minimum of 48 hours.

If you decide not to undertake the required LFD testing on day 6 and 7, or the tests are positive, your child/ren must continue to self-isolate for the full ten days.

  • If your child is identified as a close contact of a positive case children under the age of 5 years old are not recommended to take daily LFD tests. They should however limit their contact with anyone who is at higher risk of severe illness if infected with Covid-19.  They are also recommended to arrange a PCR test if the positive case is a member of their household – they do not need to self-isolate whilst awaiting the results of this PCR test (unless they are showing symptoms).
  • If your child develops any of the three key symptoms, they must self-isolate and you will need to arrange a PCR test. Continue to self-isolate until the result is received.

Committee Meeting

To be held at Pre-school on Tuesday, 15th February at 7.15pm.

Toddlers

A big thank you to all our toddlers that joined our Christmas Toddler celebration – it was wonderful to see you all – especially all those festive outfits!  Toddlers restarts this term on Wednesday 12th and for the moment will be held in Stour Row Village Hall, from 9.15-11.15 every Wednesday. We hope to return to the school hall when Covid restrictions allow but in the meantime the group continues to welcome old and new families for a relaxed, social play session, with a continuation of table top and floor-based activities, a sing along and Storytime.   £2 per family, 50p for any additional siblings.
