We have had a lovely first half of the summer term at preschool, the children have been really busy planting, growing, playing and having lots of fun. With this being my first half term as manager at Stower Vale it really has been a pleasure to meet, play and learn with your children, alongside the amazing team which have already been at Stower Vale. Thank you for being so welcoming.
This half term we have welcomed Eco club from Stower Provost Primary School who have come and helped us tidy up our garden and plant some lovely herbs, vegetables and fruits which we intend on continuing to grow. The children have loved helping and learning about the different aspects of planting, which we plan on continuing next half term.
We have also really enjoyed activities and play resources based around the story of ‘The tiger who came to tea’. The children have loved having tea parties, getting crafty and incorporating maths and literacy knowledge all based around this story. Here is a display board they are very proud of, filled with all of their beautiful work.
Summer must-haves
Please can you ensure children bring named hats and drinks bottles filled with water to school every day during the summer term as we are often outside and want to make sure children are safe in the sun. We also ask if you could please apply suncream to your child before bringing them to preschool and we will top up their suncream during the day with your permission. If you would like staff to use your own suncream to do this please let us know, if not we will be using a shop brand factor 50 cream. Please could children also have a set of spare clothes in their bag as we often have wet and messy play accessible and have a limited supply of clothes for children to borrow. Any donations of spare clothes you no longer need would also be greatly appreciated.
All about me
Despite our focus being mainly on following the children’s current interests, our loose theme after half term is going to be ‘All about me’. We are going to be thinking about ourselves, our feelings and how we have changed and grown, as well as our family and friends. Please could you send in a baby photo of your children via tapestry for children to compare themselves to. This is a great topic to support our older children who are spending their last term with us before departing to primary school.
Sports day and Graduation
We will be holding our sports day on the 15th of July 2024 starting from 1:00, all children and families are welcome to attend. We ask that if your child is not in session on that day for you to stay and supervise during sports day. This will be followed by a graduation ceremony for our school leavers. We are very excited to share this special day with you and your children. A letter will be sent out prior to the event with more information.
September sessions
If you are looking to increase or change your child’s sessions in September, please get in touch as soon as possible so we can try and accommodate these in advance. Please email [email protected] with any enquires regarding session changes. Please also remember to reconfirm your childcare account for funding to ensure your funding codes stay active, many thanks.
We hope you have a wonderful half term and look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday the 3rd of June.
